Description:
Rumah sakit adalah institusi pelayanan kesehatan yang menyelenggarakan pelayanan kesehatan perorangan secara paripurna yang menyediakan pelayanan rawat inap, rawat jalan, dan gawat darurat. Rumah sakit umum memberikan pelayanan semua bidang dan jenis penyakit (Kemenkes RI, 2009). Industri rumah sakit Indonesia dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini mengalami perkembangan yang cukup pesat. Kebutuhan akan pelayanan rumah sakit yang bermutu semakin meningkat seiring dengan perbaikan ekonomi dan derajat kesehatan yang semakin meningkat pula. Berdasarkan Profil Kesehatan Indonesia tahun 2017, rumah sakit di Indonesia dari tahun 2013-2016 mengalami peningkatan. Pada tahun 2014 jumlah rumah sakit sebanyak 2.406 meningkat menjadi 2.776 tahun 2017. Jumlah rumah sakit di Indonesia sampai dengan tahun 2017 terdiri dari 2.198 Rumah Sakit Umum (RSU) dan 578 Rumah Sakit Khusus (RSK) (Kemenkes RI, 2018).
